"The Power of Play” exhibition: virtual jumping rope with 2D LiDAR technology
Heureka is Finland’s largest science center and attracts thousands of visitors each year seeking to explore the mysteries of science. It currently has an exhibition called "The Power of Play" that is very popular with both children and adults alike. A 2D LiDAR sensor from SICK also plays a special role in that exhibition.
The "The Power of Play" exhibition at Heureka opened in February 2023 and is expected to be on display for at least two years. The exhibition is a real attraction. Heureka draws in up to 1500 visitors on a normal day.
With "The Power of Play", visitors can experience the significance and power of play. The exhibition offers a multitude of interactive elements and experiments that encourage the visitors to learn through play. One of the most popular stations is a virtual jumping rope that uses the LiDAR technology from SICK. The virtual jumping rope is a simple game where children try to jump high and perform various tricks while doing so. The LRS4000 2D LiDAR sensor allows precise distance measurements and makes the game experience realistic and safe.
